Shop Policies - Letters of Love Designs
Finish Time & Shipping:
Finish-Time: This is time I need to make your item & allow for dry-time. This does not include shipping time.
Many of the items I have listed are ready-to ship. This means that they will be sent out in 1-2 business days from the date that your order is placed. For non-finished items, I run 3-5 business days to finish general items, and 5-7 business days for custom items. If you need specific information on an item's finish time, please feel free to contact me before purchasing to verify it can be in your hands by your deadline.
Shipping Time: This is the time it takes the post office to deliver the package to you, once it has been shipped.
I use USPS for shipping. I send micro & mini sized signs weighing less than 16 oz., via First Class Mail, with the option to upgrade to Priority shipping, at check-out. In certain cases, I may choose to upgrade your package to USPS Priority shipping with no additional cost to you. This will be decided at the time if shipping. USPS First Class Mail is noted by USPS to arrive in about 1-3 business days, and I've found that that holds true in most cases. USPS does not guarantee their delivery times for First Class Mail, however.
I ship small and large signs USPS Priority mail - which is noted to be about 2-3 days arrival. USPS does not guarantee arrival times with Priority Mail, but I've found that in most cases, they are on schedule and meet their projected delivery date.
If you require a guaranteed arrival date for your order, please contact me first with your zip code, and I can calculate a USPS Priority Mail Express cost estimate for you. For smaller packages, the Express rates starts around $22.
On General Orders / Non-Custom: If you wish to cancel an order for an item that is not custom made, but was already in-stock, then please notify me within 12 hours of purchasing. You will get a full refund, including shipping, and your order will be cancelled. If your item has already been shipped, even if 12 hours has not yet passed, then you will not be able to cancel your order. When your sign arrives, you may ship it back to me in it's original state, and you'll be refunded the full price of the item, minus original shipping cost.
On custom orders: no cancellations will be issued after 4 hours of ordering, or if I've already begun working on your item. Once the order is placed by you, I begin taking time to mock-up your letters samples, sand & paint your board for your sign, order the prints, & pay the price of the prints. If it's been less than 4 hours, and the process of working on your sign has not yet begun, then you will get a full refund on your item, including the original shipping cost, if you request a cancellation.
Refunds & Exchanges:
Item arrives damaged: I take great pride in my work and wouldn't send something that I am not satisfied with, and certainly never damaged. However, the same cannot always be said for the people who handle your package after it has left my hands. I try to package your items as securely as possible. If your item reaches you in a damaged state, or there is another issue with your order, please notify me within 12 hours of receiving it. Please take a photo immediately of the packaging, any damage that was done, & include any pertinent information. This is necessary when a claim is sent to USPS for damaging the item. Please do not ship it back to me to return it without contacting me first for return approval. We will work out a plan on a case-by-case basis if this situation should occur regarding whether to refund, replace, etc.
Refunds or Replacements for my mistake: Refunds or replacements (buyer's choice) will be issued if there has been a mistake on my part (i.e. I messed up your order). Every item is custom & unique, and therefore, there will be slight variations between every item, & even between similar items. Please in mind that colors seen in the pictures can & will vary from computer to computer & device to device. No refunds will be issued for color variations between the physical item & the pictured item (unless there is a big variation, like your item is supposed to be yellow, & instead it’s black!).
In addition, refunds will not be issued for slight differences in graphic (text, handcut or punched letters, birds etc.) location between the item and the pictured item. Once again, these are custom items – there is possibility of some slight differences, but that’s what makes each one unique!
Returns & Refunds because you changed your mind or don't like the item:
If you decide you'd like to return the item because you don't like it, or have changed your mind, then please contact me to let me know that the item is on it's way back to me. In order for a refund to be issued, the item must be returned in it's original state. Shipping the item back will be at the customer's expense. Any refunds issued will be for the cost of the item purchased. Shipping costs both ways will not be paid by the customer.
More information about what to expect from my art: The photos that I take of letters are "as is in their natural state." Examples: This means that, for instance, if I'm taking a photo of a piece of metal that looks like an "S," and it has a scrape in the piece of metal... I don't edit out the scrape to make the "S" appear perfect. If your letter is a photo of an "L" from an old barn window, and there is a hint of light shining through the black background, I don't edit out the light. The letters within the photos are beautiful in their natural state. You will not be refunded if your sign arrives with a letter that you feel needs editing away from it's natural state. This is why we do the "letter choosing" and get a final "ok" from you before beginning on your signs... so that you know what you're getting.
My Original Artwork: The letters are original pictures, photographed by me, and are intended for personal home decor, or gift-giving, at a reasonable price. Since they are my original art, they aren't intended for resale in shops, online shops, or other websites unless agreed upon on a case-by-case basis with you or your business. Photo prints & wood signs with photos attached may not be purchased and then re-sold, added to another item or project.
