Seeing Letters

I saw this quote today, and it made me think.  It says, " When some people see letters, they hear words, but what I hear is music."  I cannot find the author who though up such a sweet statement, but I feel what he or she was getting at.

I love letters.  I love their shapes.  I love them when they are all alone.  I love them when they are together with other letters, different from themselves, to create something even bigger and better (words).

I see them everywhere.  In nature.  In architecture.  In old, rusty pieces.  On farms, landscapes, and indoors.  And how beautiful they are!  I love letters with different textures, rich colors, different levels of depth, and a unique look to evoke a feeling.  Each letter that I've photographed takes me back to that exact spot where I found it.  It reminds me of what I was doing at that time.  I rarely go out solely to find letters to photograph.  It happens while I'm out and about living life, enjoying time with family, spending time with friends, on a field trip with my child, a date night with my husband, or running errands. The memory associated with each letter that I see and snap a photo of, is what makes this so much fun for me.  It's certainly a process of love, art, and soul, for me.

And to go back to what I mentioned above, about single letters and letters in words.  It's a lot like life and people.  I love knowing people, and meeting new people.  Each person is a uniquely created piece, fashioned by God, in lovely colors, shapes, with different depths, with something unique to offer.  Each person, alone, has a purpose and a gift.  And at the same time, people, when joined together with other people, friends, family, or when they meet someone new, they can create something even bigger.

"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up."  - Ecclesiastes 4: 9-

"A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."  - Ecclesiastes 4:12

Love each other, support each other, help each other when one of you falls.  Celebrate each one's different gifts, and join together to use each separate gift to move mountains!

I love letters.
